“Health, Humor, Integrity and Love,” is my mantra. When all these aspects of life are given proper attention we lead a fulfilled and abundant life. This is a manifestation of how we prioritize our lives as well as how we interact with the world.
Having always been an inquisitive person, my background is in science, I hold a BS in Biochemistry and an MS in Organic Chemistry from the University of Oregon. In one of my previous lives I used to work doing research in the biotechnology field. This background gives me a unique ability to see into and understand both Western Bio-medicine and Asian Medicine. I began my studies of Acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City. I moved back to Oregon to raise my family and transferred schools to finish my studies at Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. It is here were I was able to delve deep into my herbal studies. Herbal medicine combined with acupuncture is an incredibly powerful combination that I love to practice.
A huge part of Chinese Medicine involves dietary and lifestyle recommendations. I am sensitive to and have personal experience with special diets including; vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, sugar-free, paleo, diabetic, and food allergies. I have been a vegetarian for 25+ years, vegan for nearly a decade and been gluten-free for the last 7 years. I recognize that the same diet does not fit all people and can help you in an open and judgement-free environment.
A native Oregonian, I am inspired by the pathfinder plant, growing along our hiking trails, guiding gently to keep you on the path. This is my inspiration for being your healthcare provider. Each of us has our own unique health journey, let me be your guide.
